There are celebs who have been courageous enough to share their struggles with different types of conditions. When celebrities disclose their struggles with chronic illnesses, they help to raise awareness, lessen the stigma and provide support to millions of people who may be struggling with something.

Lady Gaga – Fibromyalgia
This disease causes pain all over the body. People suffering from this disease experience extreme tiredness, muscle stiffness, trouble concentrating and problems sleeping.
There is no known cure but the symptoms can be relieved through medication and lifestyle changes. The singer was once forced to cancel a concert in Brazil because she was rushed to hospital and had severe pain.
Kim Kardashian – Psoriasis
The condition usually causes crusty red patches and silver flakes. Kim Kardashian has come to terms with the condition, saying that she hopes for a cure but in the mean-time has accepted it as part of who she is.
Nick Jonas – Diabetes
Nick Jonas was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was only 13 years old. Diabetes is an auto-immune disorder where the blood glucose levels are too high because the body cannot produce insulin. Nick Jonas wears an insulin pump to treat his condition.
Bella Hadid – Lyme disease
Lyme disease is caused by a bite from a tick. If it is not detected early, it could cause long lasting symptoms such as pain in the joints, extreme fatigue and heart problems. It also causes heart problems.
Lil Wayne – Epilepsy
The rapper suffers from epilepsy, which affects the brain and causes fits and seizures. Lil Wayne revealed that he had suffered from many seizures. He has also made hospital visits a couple of times due to fits.
Selena Gomez – Lupus
In 2015, Selena Gomez revealed she had been diagnosed with Lupus. Lupus is an auto-immune condition that causes rashes, joint pains and fatigue. Selena said she had undergone chemotherapy to treat the disease. The complications made her undergo a kidney transplant. Her donor was her friend, Francia Raisa.
Charlie Sheen – HIV
Charlie Sheen came out with the news that he had HIV on the Today Show. He said it was difficult to absorb those three letters. The actor decided to go public to end the blackmail and extortion he was being subjected to. HIV damages the immune system and makes it difficult for the body to fight off infections. HIV currently has no cure but there are medications which enable a person to live a long healthy life.
Lena Dunham – Endometriosis
In Endometriosis, the lining of the womb forms in other parts of the body, such as the ovaries. Lena says her condition was misdiagnosed for years. She has undergone a total hysterectomy due to complications from the disease. She is thrilled about the prospect of adopting. She will also try to see whether her ovaries has eggs while looking at her options of motherhood.
